LightWeightis a four metre high, fixed, inflated sphere, lit with intense translucent colours that cause the structure to glow and pulse. Hidden inside, mysterious clockwork mechanisms project video images, animations and shadowy figures to glide magically around the outside of the globe.
LightWeighthas been specially designedto complement twilight or evening celebrations and for use in ‘blackout’ spaces. The moving images can be customisedto tell a 360˚ story viewed by spectators on the outside, and are enhanced by music from hidden speakers.
LightWeight can function in a number of different modes to suit your event:
Interactive: spectators’ movements trigger reactions within the piece. In this way the installation becomes an interactive game, with the spectators as players.
Participatory: use as a creative public showcase to celebrate work by local groups or events.
Stand alone: as the focus for an event – using existing animation and graphics supplied by Impossible it can be pre-programmed to run throughout the evening or at a specific time.

In praise of Lightweight:
"Lightweight is a sensational colour experience which is both magical and mesmerising. It is very accessible and engages the audiences in a unique experience which really captures attention in an almost hypnotic way. A thoroughly enjoyable experience for everyone."
"Light weight was a magical way of showing the story of the whole project."
"It gave the finale an added dimension."
"Lightweight provided an understated spectacle for a community lighting event that I was directing. The piece has a magnetic physical presence along with unfathomable innards. On this occasion, we collaborated with Impossible Theatre, they provided a fully contained kinetic light sphere which was able to absorb and integrate our animated film made by local children. The resulting giant colour changing ball full of swimming shadow fish provided a dramatic centre piece that delighted, entertained and intrigued."
"Fantastic. Truly brilliant to be able to work in 360. Lightweight is such a focal point to an event, everyone should see it!"
"The experience can not be explained, it must be seen. Brilliant concept."
